About Dr. Takhar
Dr. Jas Takhar was born and raised in the Greater Toronto Area and has always been deeply connected to the community he now serves. He earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at York University before completing his medical degree at the University of Hawaii in Honolulu. He went on to pursue his ophthalmology residency at the renowned Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, where he developed a strong foundation in comprehensive eye care.
To further refine his expertise, Dr. Takhar completed a prestigious fellowship in glaucoma management at the University of California, San Francisco. There, he gained advanced training in cataract surgery, complex incisional glaucoma procedures (including trabeculectomy and tube shunts), and the latest minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) techniques.
With his extensive training and commitment to excellence, Dr. Takhar brings world-class glaucoma and cataract care back home to the GTA. He is proud to serve the community that supported him throughout his journey and is dedicated to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care with the most up-to-date surgical and medical treatments available.
