Meet Dr. You
Dr. Jia-Yue You is a Canadian board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in cataract, glaucoma, and complex anterior segment surgery. She completed her medical degree and ophthalmology residency at McGill University, graduating near the top of her class and receiving the Arthur S. Solomon Award for academic excellence. She also earned multiple surgical honors, including recognition for cataract surgical skills during residency.
She then completed a highly competitive two-year fellowship in glaucoma and advanced anterior segment surgery at the University of Toronto under the mentorship of Dr. Ike Ahmed. Widely regarded as one of the leading programs in the world, the fellowship provided extensive surgical experience, including complex glaucoma procedures, IOL exchange and repositioning, and anterior segment reconstruction.
An award-winning surgeon, Dr. You has been recognized for her surgical expertise, most recently earning first place in surgical video competitions at both the American Glaucoma Society and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery meetings, two of the leading international conferences in ophthalmology.
Dr. You is committed to providing patient-centered, evidence-based care using the latest surgical technologies. She is currently on staff at Trillium Health Partners. Fluent in English, French, and Mandarin, she is also dedicated to education and frequently lectures at the university level and at national and international conferences.
