About Dr. Teichman

Dr. Joshua C. Teichman is Co-Director of the Cornea, External Disease and Refractive Surgery Fellowship, and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology and Vision Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto.

Dr. Teichman and his team are renowned for their clinical, surgical, and research work in the fields of cornea, external disease, cataracts, and complex anterior segment surgery. Dr. Teichman trains eye surgeons in the latest surgical techniques. He employs a team-based approach comparable to a teaching hospital. To help bring new therapies to clinical practice, Dr. Teichman is an active researcher and is involved in numerous studies.

Dr. Teichman has authored numerous textbook chapters and peer-reviewed research publications. Dr. Teichman has given over 200 presentations, locally, nationally, and internationally, on the topics of cataract, complex anterior segment surgery, and corneal disease and surgery. Dr. Teichman is a Cornea Section Editor for the Canadian Journal of Ophthalmology. Dr. Teichman serves as Co-Chair of the Cataract Section and the Co-Director of the Cataract Skills Transfer Course at the Canadian Ophthalmological Society (COS) annual meeting.
