Our progressive lenses are manufactured using the conventional grinding process consisting of 3 axis of movement to cut, fine and polish the lens surface. The design has fixed levels of field with minimal customization and requires blanks with predetermined base and add.

Digital is a process, not a design. The digital grinding process allows specific curve modifications to address personal visual demands. After discussion with the patient, final product has some tailored parameters.

Our freeform design allows complete customization and tailoring of the optical characteristics of progressive design to the wearers specific requirements.

What can my insurance cover?

Your vision insurance service plan can be used for more than an annual eye exam* and prescription eyeglasses. You may be able to order contact lenses and your vision insurance or FSA dollars may also cover prescription sunglasses – everything you need to see and look your best, all year long.

Prism Custom Optical is able to submit most major vision insurance plans and is an out-of-network provider for many others. We can check your plan to see exactly what your vision insurance plan or FSA covers.
