Dr. Abdelghaffar is a globally recognized surgical retina specialist, serving patients across the Greater Toronto Area and internationally. With more than 5,000 vitreoretinal proceduresperformed, he is a trusted leader in the management of complex retinal conditions.

Trained at top institutions in Egypt, Spain, Germany, and the UK, Dr. Abdelghaffar brings a globalperspective to ophthalmic care. He is double-board certified in both Canada and the UnitedKingdom, and has been recognized with accolades such as the Star Research Award from theAmerican Academy of Ophthalmology and multiple Trainer of the Year awards for his outstandingmentorship.

A respected academic, he has authored over 20 peer-reviewed publications, supervisednumerous MSc and PhD theses, and is a frequent speaker at international conferences onadvanced surgical retina techniques.
